eMapSite.com
becomes reseller for Lovell Johns
Issue
date: 27 July 2000
eMapSite.com
announce they have established a reseller agreement with Lovell
Johns to enable map users to obtain Lovell Johns’ maps via eMapSite’s
new web-based digital mapping service.
eMapSite
is set to revolutionise the way large commercial map users access,
buy, use and manage digital maps. Based on Image Web Server
technology, the eMapSite web site enables users to search,
browse, zoom, view, print and download the available map data
over the internet to suit their specific requirements. They
can then import and use the data in their own GIS, CAD and other
image processing and office applications.
James
Cutler, eMapSite’s Chief Executive and joint-founder
says "It reduces the cost of sourcing, obtaining, storing
and distributing the data as we look after all the issues related
to updating, maintenance, copyright and royalties."
The
site also enables the user to select and buy only the data they
want, rather than having to purchase whole or pre-defined maps.
And as delivery is via the Web, there are no delays or additional
delivery costs. Cutler adds "eMapSite makes obtaining
maps simpler and more cost-effective, thereby widening the market
for our suppliers’ data."
Alan
Smith, Lovell Johns Marketing Manager added: "Lovell Johns
maps have been designed for use on the web and already appear
on a number of prominent sites. The eMapsite is the perfect
vehicle for getting our maps to a wider audience"
For
web-site owners, eMapSite offers innovative solutions
for providing relevant and informative location-specific content
such as maps, aerial photography and satellite imagery. Links
are provided to pre-defined views of the data, but the eMapSite
technology then allows site visitors to seamlessly zoom and
pan to view the area of their particular interest from within
their browser.
The
new eMapSite service will be exhibited at GIS 2000, taking
place at Earl’s Court London, 26-28 September.

eMapSite.com
is a UK registered company based in Hampshire, England,
and established by James Cutler and Justin Saunders,
who share over 30 years GIS experience, the last 7 years with
their own consultancy, GISL Limited. eMapSite is the

maps and images in real time over the Internet. eMapSite

distinct markets: commercial map users, such as utilities, telcos,
the public sector and professional GIS users, who need easy,
affordable access to digital map data for their GIS applications;
and website owners who wish to add informative and compelling
mapping content to their websites. The eMapSite website
