Query
emapsite inside’s Query module uses
new generation web technology to collate information from and generate a non-graphical
“view” into the location content held by emapsite and consists of:
- location specific
information retrieval in relation to the different geographies available:
- physical (geology,
ground stability, flood, groundwater vulnerability etc)
- socio-demographic
(neighbourhood statistics)
- health
- educational
- telecommunications
- transportation
- political/governmental
(boundaries, constituencies etc)
- geographic/landscape
feature
- chemical feature
(landfill, contaminated land, dangerous substances, water quality etc)
- planning
- historic land
use
- current land use
Users can simply enter a postcode or
partial street address (see Search above) and select property or location specific
results from this diverse range of topics.
The specific data retrieval can be controlled
according to need:
- at that point
- adjacent to that
point
- within a given
distance from a point
- at what distance
from that point
- within this feature’s
boundary
- adjacent to this
feature’s boundary
- within a given
distance of that feature
- at what distance
from this feature’s boundary
- by specific feature
type or description
In addition users are able to answer
many of those frequently asked questions about a property, location or area:
- Is it in a _____________
area?
- Where is the nearest
____________?
- How far is it
to the nearest ____________?
- Is there a _____________
nearby?
The self-service “pick ‘n’ mix” nature
of this module provides flexibility to the client in responding to end user needs
and opens up that same choice to the user themselves, driving down customer support
times and driving up service delivery performance.
Many land and property related activities
from acquisition through planning, construction, remediation, maintenance and disposal
are dependent on accurate location information and context.
Every organisation has different criteria by which they assess the merit
and value of a given parcel of land or property.
emapsite’s content platform opens up a wealth of data.
In many scenarios this additional and
incredibly rich source of location intelligence, delivered simply to the user provides
all the additional context a user needs for their decision making. As with visualisation,
and especially when associated with the View module, Query tools open up a level
of user assessment and informed decision making that eliminates the need for exploratory
site visits (or indeed any site visit), facilitates access planning and site investigation
and informs rapid decision making with respect to investment interest for acquisition,
insurance, development and disposal.
The advantages then are those of rapidity
of decision making, of fine tuning location query interrogation to the precise criteria
of interest and of competitive advantage.
Clients can open up a world of differentiation, leveraging their specific
market knowledge to optimise acquisitions and disposals and property portfolio structure
and generate rapid returns on investment.
