Capture

This module caters to the need and expectation that users have of being able to create and record their own information against a context of their choice.  Whether it is the creation of new overlays by hand or the addition of overlays from their own sources (be it CAD or GIS files or GPS ) or third party data streams such as weather or AIS feeds, this module ensures that the data can be captured against a suitable geographic backdrop, dynamically modified in appearance and then the data and the display styles captured into our databases for later retrieval, sharing, modification/updating and delivery.

Users can:

  • Pick existing features
  • Merge multiple existing and user created features
  • Obtain accurate coordinates for points, lines and areas
  • Attach useful attribution to existing or new features
  • Use multiple data sources to create new overlays

With outsourcing, tactical alliances and strategic partnerships an ever more important part of effective multi-disciplinary workflows the ability to collaborate around and share information on a user and project centric basis represents a powerful incentive to adopt this functionality.
