Professional Services

emapsite inside’s Professional Services layer is available to ease the process by providing end-to-end support from the initial requirement discussions to application maintenance, to ensure that the location application meets the business goals. Services include:

  • Data, design and integration consultancy
  • Project management
  • Systems implementation
  • Specialised ongoing support (for example automated messaging)
  • Training

The use of these services can reduce the cost, risk and time to add new business critical functionality to existing services – especially when ‘location’ is unfamiliar territory. The complexity of location content itself increases the importance of well supported and easily implemented solutions. Professional Services allow all parts of the project team to focus on what they do best to bring location intelligence to the desktop.

The following operational aspects of Professional Services place us at the forefront of the location intelligence delivery business:

  • a web services delivery model
  • a history of working with UI design teams
  • proven third party integration
  • custom applications development
  • location content consultancy

Location content and geographical data are complex worlds, the advantages of which are best elicited in the context of the enquiry rather than in relation to the source data itself.  Accurate, simple, multi-tier location validation offers an easy to integrate and easy to use approach to initiate end user contact and inter-action.  Clear, informative results, structured to meet the query and delivered quickly complete the picture.

The end user benefits from the right location intelligence at the right time.  Our customers find that our approach gives them the confidence to define and refine their solutions, retaining customer responsiveness throughout design and integration, critical when appending new functionality to existing services for a client who may be unfamiliar with the location milieu.

Our expertise and collaborative approach will reduce the cost, risk and time to add new business critical functionality to existing services – especially when ‘location’ is unfamiliar territory.

The complexity of location content itself increases the importance of well supported and easily implemented solutions.

emapsite inside’s Professional Services allow all parts of the project team to focus on what they do best to bring location intelligence to the desktop.

This module responds to the need to enable our partners and clients swiftly to adopt, adapt and integrate the available content and tools into their own applications and services.  While emapsite ascribes to recognised global standards in the publishing and dissemination of web services, including WSDL, we also recognise that these can be arcane at times and that the complexity of location content places increased onus on well supported, easily implemented services.  Thus this module is less an online self-build toolkit and more an access point online and off to our intellectual capacity in the location domain.

Our team of development professionals have unrivalled knowledge of the location content management and provisioning world and “own” the web services that publish these to the world.  Areas where this expertise is at a premium and where emapsite lead include:

  • Authorisation and authentication
  • Security
  • Web services configuration
  • Multi-source geographic data aggregation
  • Spatial database management
  • Geographic data licensing

Many of the integration demands of an individual implementation are down to familiarity with and confidence in the language and grammar of the geographic domain; emapsite’s track record in these areas translates into rapid development and application development support, conferring the required attributes to the client.

Clients such as the National Schools MapPilot in which an anonymised authorisation and authentication layer using the Shibboleth protocol was a make or break requirement in order to protect pupil identity, have benefited from emapsite’s ability to integrate discrete functionality into the other modules to comply with regulations and meet expectations.

emapsite seeks to harness these complexities and deliver simplicity to and for our clients through industry leading expertise and to end users via the Delivery module.  Professional Services allows our clients and ourselves to focus on what they do best to bring location intelligence to the desktop or other device.
