OS VectorMap District provides simplified, district-level mapping for towns and neighbourhoods in Great Britain. It displays simplified buildings, functional sites (e.g. schools, airports), roads, railway lines, rivers, greenspace and place names. The layered structure enables just the required features to be displayed and the data is styled to complement street-level mapping such as that provided by OS VectorMap Local.

OS VectorMap District is intended for use as backdrop mapping for applications or web pages and is styled to complement street-level mapping such as that provided by OS VectorMap Local.  It is useful for environmental and land use studies, urban/regional planning, local government service planning/management and transport/infrastructure projects.

OS VectorMap District is aligned to British National Grid (EPSG:27700) with a recommended viewing range between 1:15,000-1:30,000 (nominally 1:25,000) and the layers can be styled to suit a preferred output.
