OS NGD Buildings Theme is comprised of three Feature Types: Building Line, Building Part, and Building. The Ordnance Survey Identifier (OSID) and Topographical Identifier (TOID) are provided with each feature type for data linking. The 'Building' feature type provides data for the presence of a basement and basement flats, building age (year and/or period), construction material and a descriptive value for an understanding of what the building feature represents (e.g. residential/commercial, type of business use, whether the building is detached, terraced etc.). 'Building Part' is a polygon feature representing either a complete separate building, or part of a larger building where internal divisions exist from ground to roof level which can be identified externally (e.g. multistorey car park) and provides building height data. 'Building Line' is a feature which has a line geometry and represents a wall between two buildings, building internal divisions, or an overhanging building edge.
