Idox Planning Applications
Idox Planning Application Data is available both as a dataset and through an API, providing an up-to-date view of planning applications across Great Britain.
The data is collected daily from 437 Local Planning Authorities, then collated, processed, geolocated and linked to UPRNs before being published overnight. Covering more than 19.6 million applications and over 20 years of history, the service offers a rich and reliable source of planning data that is covers 96% of all published applications. The dataset is available as a CSV export, while the API can be accessed via Web Feature Service, Web Map Service, ESRI Feature Service and a RESTful Query API. Contact us to arrange a trial.
Get the Latest Planning Applications
From internal authority references and current status to application type, descriptions, URLs and key dates, the service provides 45 fields of planning application data in a consistent and easy-to-use format. Where appropriate, each application is geolocated and linked to a UPRN.
Because Local Planning Authorities publish data in different formats and on an ad hoc basis, bringing it together can be extremely labour-intensive. We simplify that process by collecting and standardising the data for you, making it easier to access a comprehensive, current view of planning activity from a single source.
