Aerial Imagery

High resolution aerial photos let you understand the landscape in detail – what’s in it, what’s on it, how it has changed. Identify sites, spot access points, and highlight areas of interest with ease with our wide range of aerial imagery.

Aerial imagery is a specialist field, get expert help from Emapsite.

A big challenge with aerial photos isn’t buying them – it’s being sure how old the aerial imagery is, when it was shot.

From OS MasterMap’s Aerial Layer to historic photography sets, it’s good to get support with the data and images you’re buying. We don’t do the aerial photography ourselves: we do help you to choose the right area, to confirm the date the images were captured, and get the right resolution – at the right price.

Here at Emapsite, we specialise in helping you to identify the right aerial imagery for your project – to access, share, and use those images effectively. We offer the full range of imagery available today: OS MasterMap’s Aerial Imagery layer - high resolution images - historic aerial images, oblique imagery – complete coverage of Great Britain, in colour and in black and white. From 12.5cm resolution to 5m resolution, whatever you’re looking for, set us an aerial imagery or aerial photography challenge!

Get the birds-eye view at 25cm resolution designed for use on its own or in combination with OS MasterMap Layers and other Ordnance Survey data products.

Product Details

The aerial images give added context to features which exist within other (vector) OS MasterMap layers and allow interpretation of other features not identified within the vector datasets. The data is rigorously checked for quality to maintain a consistent standard of both positional accuracy and image quality.

Additionally Ordnance Survey processing software produces true-orthorectified imagery, removing building lean from aerial imagery to give you a consistent, birds-eye view.

OS MasterMap Imagery Layer can be used in applications often reducing the need for costly site visits:

  • property insurance
  • risk analysis
  • asset management
  • site evaluation
  • land-use cover analysis
  • agricultural land use and crops inventory
  • property management and planning applications
  • route planning and accessibility assessments
  • location-based services
  • vegetation studies and environmental analysis

Purchasable as both a traditional raster cut-out of a user defined area or as web services.
